The Wharf Seafood Restaurant — Beach Bar Review

The Wharf Seafood Restaurant in St. Pete, Florida is a place to enjoy tasty food, cool drinks, and fascinating views. With a spectacular view of the intercoastal waterway, you can gaze out on all the lazy sailboats as they drift across the water.

Visitors can also enjoy the sounds of live music on the weekends, watch their favorite sports games in the Sports Bar on their 15 flat screen TVs, you’re bound to find a game you will enjoy, while you wet your whistle with one of the 21 ice-cold beers they have on draft or a bottle of your favorite, like mine a Corona. But, there are 18 or 20 of those as well, both foreign and domestic! Choose a cocktail or one “of those frozen concoctions that help me hang on.” Just a little Jimmy Buffet humor for ya.

Mainly, people come from all over to try the fantastic array of popular seafood items. As for me, we started dinner with the scampi butter sautéed blue crab claws appetizer and potato skins with bacon, scallions, and cheese. I only have one thing to say about both of those and that is, Wow! Then for dinner, I had the Wharf Fried Seafood Platter, and I do mean a platter of shrimp, scallops, oysters, soft shell, and fish with a side of Coleslaw. My friend had the honey-baked Salmon, with poutine fries (I think it was extra those fries).

After our meal, I had more beer and a margarita on the side, while my friend had a Godiva chocolate brownie.

The Wharf Seafood Restaurant has been voted “Best on the Beaches”.

Our conclusion and Beach Bar Review Drink Rating

The Wharf is the place the St. Petersburg Times says has, “Old-Timey Seafood done right!” In fact, this very wharf dates back to 1912 and is the original starting place of Birds Eye Frozen Foods, that’s right, Clarence Birdseye and Heber Bell develop the quick-freezing process right here and Robert Bell, the current owner, is a third-generation Bell. Many of the original prints from the 1920s & ‘30s have been remarked and hung on the wall gallery.

We gave The Wharf a 4-drink rating for providing great food & drinks at a reasonable price.
