Miss Vicki’s on the River — Beach Bar Review

I don’t know about anyone else, but the first thing I do when I get to Miss Vicki’s is grab a large order of hot boiled peanuts and a bottled Corona with a lemon wedge at the bar. Most times I will just sit at the bar because that seems to be where the most entertainment is early, you know hot gossip and conversation. I’m really an introvert so I don’t jump into the conversations but I love listening to the he said she said of other people’s lives. I’ve noticed that the bartenders are a lot like me on that, just listening, nodding, and occasionally saying, “Oh man!” or “No way!” or some other noncommittal phrase like that. Did you ever notice that is the way with most bartenders?

So, later I get a little hungry and grab a table outside to watch the sunset over the river and have some dinner. By now my friend is finished work and has joined me for dinner. We start out with a bowl of She-crab soup and a Greek salad, each. The soup is amazing and the salad is loaded with Feta and black olives, spectacular. For the main course, I get the blackened fish, some crispy onion rings, and creamy home-made Cole Slaw, of course I get another Corona and one of Miss Vicki’s famous Margaritas to wash it down. My friend had a platter of fried shrimp, with fries, home-made potato salad, and a blended drink. To top it all off we each had Linda’s World-Famous Key Lime Pie.

Our conclusion and Beach Bar Review Drink Rating

Miss Vicki’s is one of the most comfortable bar I have ever been to, with a charming atmosphere where it seems everyone is welcomed like family. Every time I have been there Miss Vicki is either working the bar or wondering from table-to-table checking on her guest to make sure everything is as expected. Come on down; you’re gonna love it!

We give the Miss Vicki’s a 4 and ½ drink rating for cheap drinks, icy beer, and good service.
